The Prince: New satirical comedy from the eyes of Prince George in the works; Orlando Bloom to voice Prince Harry

Considering the high voltage drama and gossip that surrounds the Royal Family of Britain all the time, it was just a matter of time until someone branched out from the serious series and films on them and made a comedy one. Now, streaming service HBO Max has gone forth and greenlit an animated comedy on the royal family. However, the interesting part is that it will be young Prince George’s narrative as the family will be seen through his eyes.

The series is titled The Prince and will feature all the real-life characters from Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. According to an international daily, Orlando Bloom will play Prince Harry in the animated series.

The inspiration for the series comes from the Instagram account run by Hollywood writer Gary Janetti which is filled with photos of Prince George appearing to react to family and international news. Besides Orlando, Condola Rashad will play Meghan Markle, Iwan Rheon will voice Prince William and Lucy Punch will play Kate Middleton. Alan Cumming has been roped in as Owen, George's butler.

The news of the series comes in the wake of Prince Harry’s and Meghan Markle’s announcement that they are ‘stepping back as Senior Royals’. Janetti said, “I'm thrilled to be working at HBO and bringing them yet another series about a family ruthlessly fighting for the throne.” There is no release date yet for the series but HBO Max is due to launch in spring 2020.
