Donald Trump has turned out to be the third US President in history to be impeached by the Democrat-controlled US House of Representatives. Now a trial will be set up and the Republican-controlled Senate will decide whether he remains in office or not. For the unversed, Donald's impeachement was along expected lines, given that in a Democrat-controlled House, all it needed was a simple majority of a minimum 216 votes, when the Democrats have 233 members. Before Trump, the other US presidents who have been impeached, were Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton.
Following the vote to impeach President Trump on Wednesday, late-night hosts Stephen Colbert and Trevor reacted to the decision. Stephen read one of the president’s tweets while impersonating his voice while onThe Daily Show, host Trevor declared, "Impeachment: It's when America moves its presidents to the spam folder," poking fun at the President's response to the impeachment process.
