The lone wolf dies but the pack survives! Do you like the final fate of the Stark siblings?

Fans are still in a daze as the hit fantasy show Game of Thrones has come to an end after 10 long years. While some are grieving at the death of fan-favourite characters like Daenerys Targaryen and Jamie Lannister, others are more concerned about the Stark house members.

In particular, fans were eager to see what could be the final fate of characters Arya Stark, Sansa Stark, Jon Snow and Bran Stark after their decade long struggles. As Ned Stark said, “When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.”

The finale episode began with Daenerys having taken over Kings Landing and just as she was about to finally rest on the Iron Throne, her lover-turned-nephew Jon Snow pulled a dagger through a heart.

We had been seeing Jon struggle with his loyalties for his Queen and knowing that she could not be the ruler of the seven kingdoms. But the final blow was a heart breaking moment for us all. Jon quickly got imprisoned by Daenerys’ Master of War. Fans were highly disappointed with what happened next - Jon got sent into exile as a member of the Night’s Watch again. He bade farewell to his family and headed towards the North where he is reunited with Tormund, Ghost and other wildings who he accompanied to the North of the Wall, hopefully to live happily in freedom.

With no monarch left, then came the question of who would rule over Westeros. While fans have spent years debating who is going to be the one to sit on the highly coveted Iron Throne at the end of the series, viewers were in for a shocking twist when that person ended up being Bran ‘The Broken’ Stark.

This was disappointing news as many were rooting for Sansa to take over the Iron Throne. But fear not because Sansa did get a throne! She abstained from voting in favour of Bran as king and preferred to rule the North independently. Later in the episode, fans got a glimpse of her coronation and might we add that Sansa looked pleased.

So what became of Arya? By now we know that Arya doesn’t consider herself a lady and her future with the Faceless Men was also bleak. So Arya made good on her idea to find out what is west of Westeros, which she had mentioned back in season 6. We see her taking a ship, with the direwolf Stark sigil to go exploring the continent and beyond.

So while many of the great houses ended up going extinct through the course of the show, it was the Stark pack that survived against all odds. Three of the five kids survived (or four of six if you count Jon, who's technically a Targaryen), and most of them got what they wanted. Sansa gets to be queen, her desire from season 1; Arya got the freedom to do what she wants; Bran can use his Three-Eyed Raven powers to make the world a better place; and Jon gets to live among the Freefolk.
