The first trailer of the Batwoman television series is here and Ruby Rose is winning the internet's heart

The trailer for CW'S Batwoman featuring actress Ruby Rose as the titular character is here and the internet is calling the show groundbreaking for not just creating a badass female superhero but also for the many stereotypes it is challenging. Ruby is thrilling as Kate Kane, Bruce Wayne's cousin is the first lesbian superhero to star on television.

The trailer showed that Batman is gone but the city of Gotham is protected by 'crows'. Villains wreck havoc and Kate's partner Sophie, played by Megan Tandy is kidnapped. Kate is quick to take action and joins the crows to find her. It goes better when Kate heads to Batman's lair to retrieve his suit for herself. With sharp action moves, an emotional storyline and the giant leap for LGBTQ representation, the show is sure to impress fans.

Ruby, who became popular post her appearance in Netflix's Orange is the New Black, is even more striking as Batwoman. But what makes a superhero good is the villain. The trailer shows the crazy Alice in Wonderland gang headed by Alice, played by Rachel Skarsten and she is bad and may be the closest thing to Batman's Joker.

What has got fans going gaga is the super empowering and witty dialogues Ruby's character has in her bag. Speaking to the assistant at Batman’s underground lair, Batwoman says that Batman's suit will be 'literal perfection', "when it fits a woman". Now that's what we call girl power!

While a premiere date has not been announced for the series, The CW has revealed it will air Sundays at 8 PM. Additionally, though it hasn't been confirmed, it's likely that the show will be featured in the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.
