The episode starts with Jon learning about Varys’ loyalties while Tyrion informs Daenerys about the same. The Mother of Dragons then executes hi for the same. Later, Jon and Daenerys talk about Sansa and how she betrayed him by spilling his secrets. She also stressed about how the people will vouch for his claim on the throne over hers because of all that he’s done; also because they don’t know or trust her. Jon assures his loyalty lies with her claim to the throne as his queen. Daenerys tries to kiss him, but Jon hesitates knowing their greater truth; which Daenerys understands.

Later, Daenerys plans the attack on King’s Landing while Tyrion tries to persuade her to do otherwise to save the innocent people, but fails. Before dismissing him, Daenerys informs Tyrion about Jamie’s betrayal and threatens him about the repercussions failing her again.

Tyrion meets Ser Davos and asks him for a favor. He then goes to see Jamie at the camps where he is held prisoner, while the Hound and Arya arrive there. In a move to help him escape. He frees him and asks him to leave for Pentos with the help of Ser Davos’ arrangements, if he wants to be alive. Jamie tells Tyrion it could cost him his life, to which Tyrion states that he would gladly die to save the many innocents and that he woudn’t have this second chance if it weren’t for the one-handed Kingslayer. They bid farewell and we swore, it was perfect!

The D-day arrives! Euron takes his place in the water with his ships and fleet, while the Gold Company stands strong on the ground with the red cloaks. The Unsullied and the Dothraki take their places, as they await for the right moment to attack. Cersei watches over the city from the tower at the Red Keep.

Danaerys arrives, mounted on Drogon, as she attacks the Iron fleet. Causing severe damage and destruction, she manages to destroy them in a matter of seconds. She then attacks the Gold Company and the Red Cloaks on the ground; Greyworm charges forward with his army as they break into King’s Landing. They secure the ground level as they march forward while Daenerys continues to break the defense on the city lines, while also destructing the city by drowning them in dragon-fire.

Qyburn updates Cersei of the situation but Cersei tries to stay optimistic, while she watches the city burn in front of her eyes. Danerys’ army reaches the gates where another flank of the red cloaks await them. Intimidated by the attack, the dragons and the destruction, the red cloaks surrender. The people start chanting about ringing the bells to announce the surrender, while Cersei, Daenerys and Tyrion wait it out.

The bells ring, music to our ears! But a very agitated Daenerys strikes again, adamant to burn the city to dust. This power move was to make sure everyone knew her power, especially Cersei, who was warring against her and to establish fear in order to gain respect. This scene also changed her course of action, revealing glimpses of her turning into, what the fan anticipated, the mad-queen.

Jon, confused as hell, watches this attack while being lost in thought. Meanwhile, Euron bumps into Jaime and provokes him into a fight. Jaime gets injured but stabs Euron, killing him.

Qyburn tells Cersei about the breach while the Hound and Arya break into the Red Keep. Sandor tells Arya that she should leave if she wants to stay alive. She hesitates at first but then agrees, before parting ways with him.

Cersei, the Mountain and Qyburn run in the Hound. The Mountain approaches the Hound, his eyes bloodshot with anger. Qyburn interrupts him and get smashed in the wall, getting killed instantly. The Clegane brothers attack each other, while Cersei runs to save her life.

Cersei runs into Jaime in the castle, while destruction surrounds them as the castle falls. They rush to a more secure place, while Arya on the other hand, tries to run away from the destruction, instructing the commoners to do the same.

The Hound stabs his brother, but the Mountain doesn’t budge. He attacks the Hound by piercing his eyes, when the Hound stabs him in one of his eyes. In a move to end it all, the Hound jumps on the Mountain, resulting in them falling out of the castle and into the destruction of ashes and fire.

Jon commands his army to fallback while Arya nearly gets hit by Drogon’s attack. She gains conscious and tries to save the life of many civilians while running for her own. She tries to rush everyone out of the rubble, not before they get hit by another wave of Drogon’s attack.

On the other hand, Cersei and Jaime get cornered by all the destruction, rubble and the falling castle surrounding them. Cersei tells Jaime that she wants her child to live while Jaime consoles her. Not before the castle falls on them, killing them in the stead.

The last scene shows Arya gaining conscious and becoming aware of all rubble and nothingness around her, in the wake of Daenerys’ attack. She then sees a lone horse and imagines herself hallucinating while she tries to take in all that is in front of her. The last shot of Arya mounting the horse and charging forward in the next direction of her next course was so iconic, we couldn’t ask for a better end to this episode. So poetic!
