Game of Thrones: Another major hint dropped via a new poster on who ends up on Iron Throne; fans come up with their own theories

The final and eighth season of Game of Thrones is scheduled to premiere on April 14 on HBO. The teasers, trailers and posters are keeping the fans excited. Speculations are also rife as to who will finally sit on the coveted Iron Throne. Game of Thrones social media account recently dropped a new poster and that got the fans in a frenzy as there were some major hints hidden in the poster.

The poster shows some intricate details and if you look close enough then you will notice that the throne is actually the head of one of Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon Drogon. Drogon is named after Daenerys’ late husband Khal Drogo and is black and red in colour with red eyes. Daenerys is also known as the Mother of Dragons and had three dragons before, Viserion, Drogon and Rhaegal. However, Viserion was killed by the Night King and he turned it into an ice dragon to use him to topple the Wall. This is the first time that a dragon has been included in the poster which might be an indication that a Targaryen will eventually win the Iron Throne.

Other than Daenerys, Jon Snow is also a Targaryen and it was revealed in Season 7 that he is the legitimate son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, and that his actual name is Aegon Targaryen. However, this poster has got the fans of the popular series come out with their own theories some of which are very logical and might hold true. Check them out below.

The most popular theory from the fans is that the Iron Throne will be eventually destroyed as it was created by Aegon Targaryen who collected swords of his opponents and used his dragon Balerion's fire to mould them together. So the throne created by a dragon will eventually be destroyed by a dragon bringing life to a full circle. Whatever it is we can’t wait for the show to premiere on April 14.
