Angelina Jolie turns to a new lawyer for the custody battle with Brad Pitt after former lawyer quits her case

Hollywood superstars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been in the news for the last several months because of their on-going custody battle and divorce. Jolie and Pitt have been together for 10 years, post which they tied the knot in 2014. In 2016, the Maleficent actress filed for a divorce after an "incident" that took place on a private plane during their vacation. She had been battling for the custody of their six kids (Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne) with her lawyer Laura Wasser in the LA Superior Court.

However, Wasser has called quits on Jolie's case, as reported. "Angelina decided to change counsel to Samantha Bley DeJean of Bley and Bley, as Samantha's expertise is the protection and best interests of children," said Jolie's spokesperson Mindy Nyby. She added, "Angelina appreciates Laura's cooperation in transitioning the case over the past several weeks. Samantha's expertise is the protection of children and over the past few weeks, Angelina's come to rely on her counsel and decided to put her in the lead."

While the reports suggest that Wasser has quit Jolie's case now, as per a source close to the actress, "Over the past month the case has been fully transitioned to Samantha. Angelina remains focused on healing her family." The 43-year-old Jolie maintains that she wants to heal her family and help her kids in the presence of their father.

Earlier this month, reports claimed that Pitt failed to support the family after the divorce was filed. In fact, Wasser claimed in a statement submitted to the LA Superior Court stating, "Given the informal arrangements around the payment of the children's expenses have not been regularly sustained by Pitt for over a year and a half." Rubbishing the reports, the Fight Club actor's lawyers stated that he gave a loan of $8 Million to help his wife and their kids settle down.
