Brad Pitt refutes Angelina Jolie's claims; says he's given 'millions' since separation

Popular Hollywood actors, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, first met each other on the sets of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2003. In 2014, they tied the knot. However, they separated in 2016 due to 'irreconcilable differences'. Pitt and Jolie, together have six children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. Their divorce has been unusual since the beginning, and its latest developments are no exception.

This week, their conflict was over child support. Along with that they also appealed to agree on starting a process that would let them dissolve their marriage while continuing to work out the details of their divorce settlement and custody of their six children. Jolie's lawyers alleged that Pitt had not paid for their children's meaning child support since their separation.

However, Pitt and his lawyers have claimed that all such allegations are false and that he has contributed $1.3 million to support Jolie and the kids and an additional $8 million loan to help her buy her current home.

In the recent application filed by Pitt's lawyers, it is stated that he “adamantly disputes the contention that he has not paid significant child support.” In response to this, Jolie's lawyers claimed that he was charging the actress an interest on the loan for the new house. They also added that she had to pay for almost all of the expenses for her children on her own.

“What has been filed by Brad’s side today is a blatant attempt to obfuscate the truth and distract from the fact that he has not fully met his legal obligations to support the children,” Jolie’s lawyer Samantha Bley DeJean said in a statement. The actress first filed for divorce two years again for the "health" of her family. In January 2017, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt agreed to handle their divorce in a private forum and would work together to reunify their family.
