Everybody on the sets of Dhadak was weeping at Janhvi's dramatic performance for the climax scene on Friday

Everybody’s talking about how Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter celebrated the wrap up of their Bollywood debut Dhadak on Friday. The young actress put up a picture on Instagram that simply said “Home”. Ishaan had a double celebration: Friday also marked the release of Beyond The Clouds, celebrated Iranian director Majid Majidi’s debut into Indian cinema, in which Ishaan plays the lead with Malvika Mohanan, cinematographer KU Mohanan’s daughter. Janhvi, her sister Khushi and father Boney Kapoor joined Ishaan at the screening. And the Dhadak co-stars hung out together and posed for shutterbugs.

But nobody’s telling you how the last day of shooting went...

PeepingMoon.com has learned from the sets of the Shashank Khaitan-directed remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat for Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, that the wrap up was hugely emotional not just for the young actors making their break with this story of inter-caste love and honour killing, but everybody on the sets of Dhadak. And there was one reason only for this. Janhvi’s meltdown scene in the dramatic climax was so emotionally volatile that it had everybody crying their hearts out. We kid you not. This bit of information comes from a top source in the production who said that Janhvi is simply spectacular in Dhadak.

Karan Johar, who also posted an endearing picture of Janhvi and Ishaan with director Shashank on Instagram last Friday, wrote that the young actors are truly the heartbeat of Dhadak. The film, which was shot in Mumbai, Udaipur, Jaipur and Kolkata, appeared to be heading for an uncertain break when Janhvi’s mother and legendary actress Sridevi passed away suddenly on February 24. But Janhvi did not let the tragedy affect her work.

In stoic silence, she returned to the sets and resumed shooting. This caused Bollywood veterans to remember how Sridevi had similarly returned to the sets of Lamhe in London after the 13thday ceremony following her father Ayyapan’s death in 1991. But Sridevi was many years into cinema already then and knew the show must go on. Whereas Janhvi was just taking baby steps. Showing remarkable courage, she moved on.
