This is a scene right out of Bollywood! Only it happened off screen. Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who often is a real life hero too, chartered a midnight flight to Kochi and flew down there in the early hours to surprise his Khiladi 786 and Housefull 2 co-star Asin Thottumkal who delivered a baby girl yesterday. Akshay then took a picture holding the newborn which he just put up on Twitter.

Akshay was instrumental in introducing his friend Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax, to Asin during the making of Housefull 2 in 2012. The actor played Cupid in the couple’s romance. And now, Akshay reportedly feels like he’s the Godfather of the couple’s first born. There was no stopping him from flying to Kochi once he got free of his work last night.
Asin, who is supposed to have spent a restless and sleepless night, didn’t know whether to be shocked or surprised when Akshay walked into her hospital room at 2 am. The baby girl was fast asleep and missed out on the moment when her superstar Godfather picked her up in his strong arms for a picture. Akshay spent some time with Asin and Rahul and took his chartered flight back to Mumbai. He reportedly got back at 6 am.
Earlier yesterday, Asin and Rahul announced their baby’s arrival on social media with this message: “We are ecstatic to announce the arrival of our angelic baby girl earlier today. The last nine months have been most special and exciting for the both of us and we would like to thank all our well wishers and everyone who has been part of our journey for all their love and support.”

Asin also shared the news on Instagram and wrote, “She is the best birthday present I could ever ask for!”The South Indian actress, best known for her Bollywood films Ghajini and Khiladi 786, tied the knot with the Micromax founder in a Christian wedding ceremony followed by Hindu rituals in Delhi on January 19, 2016. Both the ceremonies were attended by Akshay. Asin celebrates her 32ndbirthday tomorrow.
