Exclusive: Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone turn down ‘Satte Pe Satta’

We don’t know whether Anushka Sharma will play the lead in Farah Khan’s remake of the Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini 1982 action comedy Satte Pe Satta. But we can tell you that Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone will definitely not be in the film.

There have been strong rumours of both actresses being approached for the Rohit Shetty produced film, but PeepingMoon.com sources say that while this is true, Priyanka and Deepika expressed disinterest in being cast in the remake. Now Anushka is the focus of everybody’s imagination.

The lead actor of the film is also not in place. And there’s another rumour that Hrithik Roshan will be playing Amitabh Bachchan’s role in Farah’s version of Satte Pe Satta. But that again awaits confirmation from Hrithik himself. The actor has not said what he will be doing after War releases on October 2.

Interestingly, Katrina Kaif was the actress first said to be doing Satte Pe Satta. Then Kriti Sanon’s name came up. There is still the probability of Kriti playing a role in the film but this is not likely to be the lead. For that, the makers are believed to be looking at Anushka after Priyanka and Deepika. But like in the original, the male lead has a double role in Satte Pe Satta, and maybe Kriti will be romantically paired opposite one of these characters.
