Karan Johar dropped in on the sets when Gauri and Shah Rukh Khan were busy shooting at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai today. Punit Malhotra, who saw huge success in May with his summer directorial Student of The Year 2, was directing Bollywood’s celebrity power couple. Onlookers said this was SRK and Gauri like they have never been seen before. But this was not a new Bollywood film for Dharma Productions. Certainly not SRK’s next film after Zero’s poor outing at the box office in December either. And neither was it Gauri’s Bollywood debut. This was a warm and cozy ad film for Dharma 2.0, the zippy venture launched by KJo in 2017 to make ad films for television and other new-age digital content.
The client was the premier home furnishings brand D’Decor. For whom SRK and Gauri had modeled before under Punit’s direction in 2017. The first ad was titled ‘Touch of Love’. And while showcasing D’Décor’s wide range of designs and highlighting its qualities like softness and comfort, the TVC also introduced the essence of love that the brand brings to it luxurious fabrics with SRK playing the role of home-maker and arranging the bedding while Gauri was busy at work. What was also noticed was the high-production-value of Dharma 2.0 and the creativity and appeal brought to the brand in the TVC by Punit’s direction.

The young director, who helms Dharma 2.0, had at that time said that with Touch of Love he wanted to set up a “fresh and relevant context for today’s generation”. This time, Punit was too busy for comment. He completes shooting the ad at Mehboob Studio tomorrow.
