After Radhika Madan and Mrunal Thakur who made her big screen debut with Vishal Bhardwaj's Pataakha and Tabrez Noorani's Love Sonia respectively last year, one more TV actress is gearing up for her Bollywood break. Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that TV actress Pankhuri Awasthy will be making her transition from the small screen to Hindi films with Aanand L Rai's Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan

According to an industry source, Pankhuri who's best known for her role as Razia Sultan in &TV's historical drama of the same name and as Draupadi in Sony TV's Suryaputra Karn has been roped in to play Ayushmann Khurrana's love interest in the sequel of Subh Mangal Saavdhan. Pankhuri is the wife of TV actor Gautam Rode who has also featured in films like Annarth (2002), Aksar 2 (2017) and several music videos. Although Pankhuri herself was seen in a small role in Prabhu Deva's 2013 romantic-comedy Ramaiya Vastavaiya, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan will be her first feature film in a pivotal role.

The sequel that marks the directorial debut of the first part's writer Hitesh Kewalya is scheduled to go on floors in September and releases on Valentine's Day next year. While the first part dealt with the issue of erectile dysfunction, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan speaks of the love stories that were not spoken about earlier but have always existed in our society. It revolves around how a conservative family comes to terms with the fact that their son is gay.

We have also learned that the second male actor who will play Ayushmann's gay partner has also been locked and the announcement of the same will arrive in a few weeks.
