'Gone Kesh' actor Jitendra Kumar likely to play the role of Ayushmann Khurrana's gay partner in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan?

Ayushmann Khurrana, after displaying an array of diverse characters in his offbeat choice of films, is all set to play the role of gay in the sequel to his 2017 release Shubh Mangal Saavdhan titled Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. Ever since this detail of Ayushmann's character was announced, there has been enough speculation as to who will play the role of his love interest in the film. Now reports in an entertainment portal states that Jitendra Kumar, known for his role in Gone Kesh and Kota Factory amongst others, will be brought aboard to play the role of Ayushmann's gay partner.

A source close to the film told the entertainment portal that the role is of a small town boy and the makers wanted to bring in a relatively fresh face to enact the character. After several rounds of auditions, Jitendra has finalised but he is yet to sign on the dotted line.  "The character is of a small town boy and the makers wanted to take an actor who can pull off the character with ease. The makers wanted a relatively fresh face and after doing the rounds of auditions, Jitendra fitted all the bills. Although he has not signed on the dotted line yet, he is the one," the source quoted.

PeepingMoon.com was the first entertainment portal to break the news of Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan being on cards in an exclusive copy dated May 6. The report also revealed that the sequel will deal with homosexual love. Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, a remake of Prasanna’s 2013 Tamil film Kalyana Samayal Saadham, addressed erectile dysfunction in a light-hearted manner.

Produced by Aanand L Rai, Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan will be directed by Hitesh Kewalya, who wrote the screenplay and dialogues for the first film. Announcement regarding Jitendra joining the cast is yet to be made official.
