Manoj Bajpayee addresses criticism surrounding Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal'

Actor Manoj Bajpayee has weighed in on the controversy surrounding Ranbir Kapoor’s film 'Animal,' urging critics to move on and not create trouble for others. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Bajpayee emphasized that while people are free to disagree with a film, they should not call for bans or protests.

Bajpayee stated, “I am very clear, if many people disagree or don’t like a film, what’s wrong with that? The film is released, does its business, and moves on. The money goes into the producer’s pocket; let them take it; they invested in the movie.” Also added, “If you don’t want to watch it, then don’t. If you disagree with something, it’s better not to watch it, but don’t create trouble for the movie. You will be only encouraging a bad notion by doing so, what if others hinder your work in the same way? There should be open discourse without calls for bans or protests.”

In the same interview, Bajpayee praised several films for their entertainment value and originality, including Rishab Shetty’s 'Kantara,' Ranbir’s 'Animal,' Yami Gautam’s 'Article 370,' and the blockbuster 'RRR' starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR.

Since its release, 'Animal,' directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has faced criticism for its violence, bloodshed, and portrayal of female characters. Many social media users have labeled it problematic.

Manoj Bajpayee was recently seen in 'Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout,' which was released on Zee5. He will next appear in the film 'Bhaiyya Ji,' set to hit theatres on May. Additionally, he is currently shooting for the third season of the popular web show 'The Family Man.'
