Angad Bedi’s father legendary spinner and ex-Indian captain Bishan Singh Bedi dies aged 77, sports minister Anurag Thakur calls in a ‘huge loss’

Ex-Indian captain and a legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi passed away on Monday, October 23. His condition was unwell due to which he had to go through a surgery two weeks ago post which he has been hospitalized in Delhi. Bishan Singh has 4 children, Angad Bedi, Neha Bedi, Gavasinder Bedi and Gill Bedi. Angad is a film actor and has worked in many Bollywood films. He is married to the actress Neha Dhupia and the duo has 2 children. 


Across the career, Bishan Singh played Test cricket for India from 1966 to 1979. Covering total of 67 tests and 266 wickets. And captained in 22 Test matches. He was also known for his outspoken nature and precise thoughts on the cricket matters. 

After the sudden demise of the former cricketer, Union sports minister Anurag Thakur went on to express his condolence and called it a ‘huge loss for cricket.’
