When someone who is famous has a mental health condition, people don’t understand it: Rhea Chakraborty on Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide

Rhea Chakraborty was all over the headlines back in 2020 as the actress was allegedly responsible for her boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Following this, she was also accused of being associated in a drug case following which she was arrested and had to be under a judicial custody for 28 days post which she finally got the bail in October of 2020.

In a recent public forum interaction, the actress went on to share about the mental health issues Sushant was going through and said that its difficult for people to understand when something like this happens to a celebrity.

Rhea said, “The truth is that mental health is not understood in this country at all. We are taking strides and the youth is now talking about it and India is moving forward in understanding mental health. But when someone who is famous has a mental health condition, people don’t understand it. They are like he has fame, he has success, why is he depressed?”

She further added, “They said that ever since she came into his life, he changed. He had his own identity before me. He was a guy who came from a small town. He made it so big in Bollywood. That is not a mind that can be controlled.”

Sushant was found hanging death in his apartment in the June of 2020, firstly the reason was considered to be a suicide but speculations of possible murder arose later.
