Kangana Ranaut slams the ‘character actors’ of Manikarnika, says they never felt the film was theirs like Ankita or Prasoon Joshi

Kangana Ranaut is well-known for calling a spade a spade. She does not mince her words, nor sugar-coats things to sound diplomatically correct and she is definitely not miss-goody-two-shoes. Her film Manikarnika: the Queen of Jhansi has opened to good numbers at the box office and looks poised to be a top grosser for being an entirely female-driven film. The film has been mired in controversies right from the directors’ credit and the allegations levied against her by Krish and a few other actors from the film, Kangana spoke about the ‘hidden agenda’ of these actors in a media interaction while praising Ankita Lokhande for standing by the film.

Kangana while speaking at a media interaction in the capital said that these actors have “agendas of their own.” She said, “All these character actors, who are part of the film, are claiming that they were promised something and it was not delivered. They are messaging me saying, ‘oh we were told that we’ll get to do solo interviews’ and this and that, so I blocked their numbers. I was like, are you trying to butter both sides of the toast now? So these people have agendas. I believe if they have sincere respect for work, if they really felt that Manikarnika is their film, the way I feel or Ankita Lokhande feels or Prasoon Joshi feels, they wouldn’t go out and attack the film during such an important week (after the film’s release).”

Kangana said that Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is a special film as it does not belong to one person but belongs to the entire nation at large. Kangana not only acted but also directed a part of the film and has been applauded by veteran actors like Waheeda Rehman and Asha Parekh for doing a fabulous job of both actor and director.
