The #MeToo movement gained a lot of momentum in Hollywood last year and since then there have been some tremendous changes in the industry as well. Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, Kevin Spacey have all fallen from grace and the high position they held in the industry. However, in Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta who made the floodgates open by accusing veteran actor, Nana Patekar of sexual harassment and intimation is still unable to garner support from the industry.
Tanushree accused Nana of misbehaving with her on the sets of 2008 film Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss. However, Nana refuted her claims and even went on to say that he would take legal actions against her if needed. Today, after Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan skillfully evaded answering the question on Tanushree’s allegations, Salman Khan was asked a similar question and the superstar apparently got angry at the reporter who dared to raise such a pressing issue.
Salman launched World's toughest Mountain Terrain Biking "MTB ARUNACHAL” promos today with Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju and was asked about Tanushree’s allegations. Salman cleverly dodged the question and said, “I am not aware of this. Let me know and understand what is happening. I have been here and I am sure that the legal team will handle that. We will see what is going on. I am not aware of it.”
Tanushree in her turn asked the A-list actors to come in support of her but Salman dodged answering the question and Amitabh said that he doesn’t have anything to say as he is neither Nana nor Tanushree. Aamir, on the other hand, said that it is sad when something like this comes to fore and should be thoroughly investigated. Tanushree’s claims have been backed by a senior journalist who was an eyewitness to the incident, whereas choreographer Ganesh Acharya who was choreographing the said item song defended Nana and said that no harassment took place but accepted that there was some misunderstanding and eventually Tanushree left the film.
