Ask any Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff fan for their favorite film in which the two actors starred together and invariably they will name Ram Lakhan. Subhash Ghai directorial was a blockbuster hit and had the actors playing brothers. It was being speculated that Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor would be shaking a leg to the popular song My Name is Lakhan at Sonam Kapoor’s sangeet ceremony. However, Anil and Arjun took to the dance floor and grooved on the song with the former even trying to play a dafli like the one he did in the film.
Surprisingly, Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar had actually announced their plans on making a remake of the film way back in 2014, but the project has been on the backburner ever since. Ghai said, “They're taking their time. I know whenever they'll make the film, they'll make it well.” The film is still in its initial stages and no lead actors have been cast for it. However, names of Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan; Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were doing the rounds for some time. Anil Kapoor who played Lakhan in the original was backing Shahid and Ranveer’s pairing for the film.
