Shrimaan Shrimati is back on small screen and we can’t keep calm

If you’re a 90s kid then you would remember how Keku Ji, Dil, Doll and Koki were household names. These Shrimaan and their Shrimatis ruled the telly scene and we were hooked to it. Ah, the good ‘ol days. Weren’t they amazing? We’d give anything to have them back, right?

But what if you told you that the lovely couples are back on our telly turf again to tickle our funny bones? Yes, our favourite show just got revamped and is back as Shrimaan Shrimati Phir Se on the small screen. With a new cast and the same basic plot!

The Archana Puran Singh, Reema Lagoo, Jatin Kanakia, and Rakesh Bedi starrer show has a new cast in form of Barkha Bisht, Sucheta Khanna, Keshav Kulkarni, and Suresh Menon. The trailer looks really promising.

Premiering on Sab TV at 7.30 pm Monday to Friday, March 13th onwards, the show is going to bring back so many memories.

It’s like, “Keku Ji” is ringing now in Archana’s voice in our ears and Reema Lagoo’s facial expressions are flashing before our eyes. Plus, how can we forget how we adored Dilruba aka Rakesh Bedi’s effeminate antics.

The Indian sitcom was funny for its humour but the storyline was always talked about in hushh-hush tones, mainly because it involved in both the husbands hitting on their neighbour’s wives. Yeah!

But, then, the treatment to the topic was such that it wasn’t derogatory. The same show, with different faces, set in modern times – we don’t know how the audiences will react to it. But, for a true-blue 90s kid we would want to relive the memories of our childhood.

The show has been remade in several languages and is now rebooted.

Looks like, those Doordarshan days have moved to Sab, and we can’t wait to watch the new show.
