Brad Pitt to team up with Emma Stone for La La Land's director Damien Chazelle's upcoming venture 'Babylon'?

Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle is all set with his next directorial venture after La La Land and he has his eye on Brad Pitt and Emma Stone. Called Babylon, the early-Hollywood period drama is likely to team up Damien and Emma again, for the second time.

Sources confirm that Brad also is in the mix, though neither he nor Emma has made a commitment. It has also been known that Babylon is a drama that mixes real and fictional characters and is solidly in the R-rated category. Several studios are lining up for Babylon including Lionsgate, which distributed the 14 Oscar-nominated La La Land.

Lionsgate is considered the front-runner to land a project described to me as an original drama that is set in period Hollywood at a shifting moment when the business was turning from silents to talkies. The film will be produced by Olivia Hamilton, Matt Plouffe, Marc Platt and Tobey Maguire.

Brad is about to open opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie in the Quentin Tarantino-directed Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It’s one of the most impressive screen returns for the actor in a long time.
