According to Taran, the film has surpassed the opening weekend business of Total Dhamaal [Rs 62.40 cr / 3700 screens], thus emerging as the biggest non-holiday opener of 2019, which is a emarkable feat since Kabir Singh was released on 3123 screens. Meanwhile, according to a trade portal, "The film should hold well on Monday as although the growth is not huge over the weekend, it is mainly due to the high numbers on the opening day. The screenings in peak hours are helping in the high occupancy all over."

Kabir Singh narrates the story of Kabir (Shahid), a young final year medical student who falls in love with Preeti (Kiara), his junior in college. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde, the film is a T-Series and Cine1 Studios presentation.
