Prime Video's Call Me Bae announcement: Fashionista Ananya Panday aka 'Meryl Panday' disapproves of Varun Dhawan's fashion sense

Ananya Panday is among the new-age fashionistas of Bollywood and the fashion police would agree. While she has impressed all with her elite and sound taste in style, she's all set to play a reel fashionista in her debut web series. In September last year, PeepingMoon had exclusively informed its readers about the show titled Call Me Bae. Now, Prime Video made an official announcement.

In a fun video announcing Call Me Bae, Varun Dhawan introduced Ananya as the leading lady of the series. Giving a hint at her character in the show, Ananya can be seen finalising a look while Varun is pulling her leg. She then schooled him on the nuances of fashion and couture in a monologue. Varun finally gave up and crowned Ananya as 'Meryl Panday'.

Call Me Bae is currently in the production stage. It revolves around a billionaire fashionista who is disowned by her ultra-rich family owing to a salacious scandal. She has to fend for herself, for the first time ever. On this journey, she overcomes stereotypes, negotiates around prejudices and discovers who she really is.

A Dharmatic Entertainment production, with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra serving as Executive Producers, Call Me Bae is being directed by Collin D’Cunha. It is created by Ishita Moitra who has also co-written the series with Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair.
