Hyderabad court vacates stay order on Ekta Kapoor-Kangana Ranaut's Lock Upp; reality show to premiere as scheduled

Ekta Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut's controversial reality show, Lock Upp, landed in legal trouble just a day before its scheduled premiere on ALT Balaji and MX Player. A Hyderabad civil Court had issued an ad-interim injunction against Alt Balaji, Balaji Telefilms, Karan Medi’s MX Player, Endemol Shine, Ekta Kapoor and Endemol Shine in a case of copyright infringement.

The makers of Lock Upp then decided to push the release date further and issued a new promo in which it was mentioned that the show will 'air soon' instead of February 27. Now, the court has vacated the order and allowed the show to stream as per its original schedule.

A person named Sanober Baig filed the case and accused Lock Upp of stealing his idea. He claimed that the idea was registered in March 2018 and the concept was shared with Endemol Shine India’s Abhishek Rege. Apparently, Sanober's show's title is The Jail
