Bajrang Dal activists vandalise Bobby Deol's Aashram 2 sets in Madhya Pradesh, smear ink on director Prakash Jha

Bobby Deol is returning as Kashipur Waale Baba Nirala in the second season of Prakash Jha's web series Aashram. The shooting of Aashram 2 has kickstarted in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal. Recently, a group of Bajrang Dal members vandalised the set of the web series and also assaulted a crew member. Reportedly, director Prakash was smeared with ink by the activists and also broke the windshield of at least three buses before the police intervened.

A video is going viral on social media in which a witness captured Bajrang Dal members chasing down the crew of Aashram 2. They managed to catch one of them in the video and were seen beating him brutally with an object that seems to be made out of metal. According to a news portal's report, a mob shouted slogans like "Prakash Jha Murdabad", "Bobby Deol Murdabad" and "Jai Shri Ram" while attacking Aashram 2's set at Old Jail premises in Arera Hills.

Bajrang Dal leader Sushil Surhele told the portal, "They made Ashram 1, Ashram 2 and were shooting Ashram 3 here. Prakash Jha showed in Ashram that the guru was abusing women. Does he have the guts to make such a film on a church or madrasa? Who does he think he is?" He further added, "Bajrang Dal challenges him, we won't let him make this film. So far we have just blackened Prakash Jha's face. We are looking for Bobby Deol. He should learn something from his brother (Sunny Deol). He made such patriotic movies."

Bhopal DIG Irshad Wali told in a statement, "Action will be taken against those who disrupted the shooting and vandalised property today itself. They will be arrested. Anti-social elements ransacked vehicles created trouble. Crew members of Ashram will be given fill security and it will be ensured this does not happen again."
