Filmmakers Raj & DK's recently released series, The Family Man 2, is the current talk of the town. Starring Manoj Bajpayee, Samantha Akkineni, Priya Mani, Sharib Hashmi, Shahab Ali, Sharad Kelkar and others, the Amazon Prime Video web series is receiving rave reviews. As it is pretty clear that the franchise will be carried forward, rumours were rife that South actor Vijay Sethupathi will battle against Manoj in the 3rd season of The Family Man

Now, it has been confirmed that Vijay is not doing The Family Man 3. The next season of the popular franchise is still at a nascent stage and it will take some time for it to go on floors. "FAKE NEWS ALERT!! #VijaySethupathi is not doing Amazon Prime India's #FamilyMan3 as being rumoured in media... In fact, the next season of the @rajndk series is just at the nascent stage right now, and will take some time before it gets off the ground!" Rahul Raut tweeted.

According to reports, Vijay was offered the role of Bhaskaran Palanivel, the rebel leader, in The Family Man 2. However, he turned down the role and reportedly suggested Tamil actor Mime Gopi for the same.

Workwise, Vijay is currently working with Raj & DK on their Amazon Prime Video web show that marks the digital debut of Shahid Kapoor. He has also signed Santosh Sivan's Hindi film, Mumbaikar. Vijay will be teaming up with Katrina Kaif and director Sriram Raghavan for a film reportedly titled Merry Christmas.
