Talking about the new season, creator and showrunner Alex Pina said, “We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of ‘La Casa de Papel.’ The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season.”

He further told an online portal, “We are moving from a chess game — a mere intellectual strategy — to a war strategy: attack and contention. This new goal raises the stakes while keeping the story fresh and maintaining the adrenaline that has always run through Money Heist. The war they've been pushed to start results in "the most epic part of all the parts we've shot.”

Money Heist stars Úrsula Coberó (Tokyo), Álvaro Morte (The Professor), Itziar Ituño (Lisbon) and Pedro Alonso (Berlin) among others. Jesús Colmenar will executive produce to the series with Pina as executive producer and showrunner. Cristina López Ferraz will return as director of production. Javier Gómez Santander will head write and co-produce the series with DoP Migue Amodeo and Esther Martínez-Lobato. Money Heist will be directed by Jesús Colmenar, Koldo Serra and Álex Rodrigo.
