After making her fans wait for 10 long years, Sushmita Sen is all set to make her comeback with a powerful thriller web series. Titled Aarya, the show is written and directed by Ram Madhvani of Neerja fame and will stream on Hotstar Specials from June 19. Days after unveiling the first look, the makers released the trailer on social media today (June 5).
The trailer introduces us to Aarya, the wife of a drug lord and a doting mother. Expressing displeasure over his husband's mafia business, she threatens to divorce him if he doesn't stop his illegal activities. However, Aarya's world turns upside down after her husband is shot down by an anonymous person. Aarya then finds herself in the labyrinth of trouble and police investigation. Donning the avatar of a sherni (tigress), Aarya steps in as a lady don who can go to any extent for the protection of her children.
Aarya is the Hindi adaptation of the Dutch crime thriller show Penoza which released by the title of Black Widow in English. It is produced by Endemoleshine Entertainment and Ram's Equinext Films – the digital division of his production company Equinox Films. Aarya also stars Namit Das, Sikandar Kher, Manish Chaudhary among several others.
