Puncch Beat teaser: Vikas Gupta’s and Ekta Kapoor’s show will remind you of SOTY

The official trailer of ALTBalaji’s digital web-series Puncch Beat has been dropped and if you are a 90s kid and was expecting something on the lines of Hip Hip Hurray then you’re going to be sorely disappointed because it is more akin to Karan Johar’s Student of the Year and Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbatein. The show is produced by Vikas Gupta’s Lost Boy Productions and will stream on Ekta Kapoor's digital platform. It stars Priyank Sharma (Rahat) Harshita Gaur (Divyanka), Siddharth Sharma (Ranbir), and Khushi Joshi (Padmini). Puncch Beat is a youth drama centered around four friends at their high school called Rosewood High and showcases their trials and tribulations. There are glaring similarities between Puncch Beat and SOTY. The 1 minute 20 seconds teaser introduces the lead cast with their trademark characteristics and shows how two friends will turn foes and battle it out in a boxing ring to win over a girl. The trailer has a fitting punch line, “This Valentine's Day friendship and love will be put to test in the boxing ring of life."

The show looks ostentatious and grand and the treatment meted out to the web series is nothing less than a film with beautiful aerial shots of the supposed Rosewood High where all the drama unfolds. Puncch Beat will stream on ALTBalaji from February 14.
