Shweta Tripathi and Vikrant Massey take break in Benares

The Masaan and Haraamkhor actress Shweta Tripathi was recently in news for bagging an important role in Amazon Prime's web series, Mirzapur which is being produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The series has a rural setting from north of India as its background a crime drama genre and is being shot extensively in the heartland of India, Benares. The show also stars Vikrant Massey and the duo has been taking breaks from their hectic shoot schedule to explore the holy city.

Known for its impeccable history, religious significance, the duo have been taking this opportunity to learn about the place. From visiting different places in Benaras, binging on local street foods, Shweta and Vikrant are having a great time.

This is not the first time Shweta is shooting in the holy land, as her first film Masaan was extensively shot in Benares. Reviving memories, she shared, "Benares always brings back Masaan memories and hence on the day we had an early pack up, I took Massey straight to the cafe where Vicky and I had our famous 'Ab toh hum friends ban gaye na' scene from the film. I always sit in the same spot and order the same things, cold coffee and a margarita pizza."

It is being reported that Mirzapur is loosely based on Narcos, a Netflix production.
