The First Lady: Viola Davis bears uncanny resemblance to Michelle Obama in first look images; Michelle Pfeiffer and Gillian Anderson play Betty Ford & Eleanor Roosevelt

First look images of Showtime’s upcoming series The First Lady have been unveiled by Entertainment Weekly. It offers a first look at Viola Davis in the titular role of Michelle Obama. The anthology series will follow the personal and political lives of the First Ladies of the Unites States of America. The First Lady also stars Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford and Gillian Anderson as Eleanor Roosevelt.

The series also boasts of a stellar ensemble cast that will portray many decades of political figures. The Presidents will be played by O-T Fagbenle as Barack Obama, Aaron Eckhart will essay Gerald Ford, and Kiefer Sutherland as Franklin D Roosevelt. Kate Mulgrew will be playing the First Lady's Chief of Staff Susan Sher.

The First Lady also stars Dakota Fanning, Lily Rabe. On the other hand, Jayme Lawson, Kristine Froseth, and Eliza Scanlen will portray younger versions of Michelle Obama, Betty Ford, and Eleanor Roosevelt. Images of Lexi Underwood as Malia Obama, Saniyya Sidney as Sasha Obama, and Regina Taylor as Michelle’s mother Marian Shields Robinson has also been unveiled.

The First Lady is set to premiere in the spring of 2022.
