Of Casting coup! Harry Styles joins MCU as Thanos' brother Eros; Mel Gibson roped in for Keanu Reeves' John Wick prequel; Danny DeVito joins Haunted Mansion cast

Some exciting news about fresh casting and new films are coming from the Hollywood stable. Here's a roundup of the new cast announcements. 

Harry Styles joins Marvel Cinematic Universe

After months of speculation, Harry Styles has officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as revealed by an online portal. The big reveal was made during the Eternals LA premiere. While Eternals is yet to release in theatres internationally, the LA premiere let out a few secrets along with the introduction of the new group of superheroes. Variety's  Matt Donnelly took to Twitter to reveal that Styles has been cast as a new MCU member. He will play the role of Eros, brother of Thanos. This news brought mixed feelings from the fans as some expressed excitement while others lamented the fact that the studio could not guard the secret until the release of Eternals.

Mel Gibson to star in John Wick origin series 'The Continental' 

Mel Gibson Joins 'John Wick' Spin-Off Series 'The Continental'

Mel Gibson has been roped in to star in The Continental, the prequel to the Keanu Reeves film series John Wick. The Continental will be a three-night special-event TV series and is produced by Lionsgate Television for Starz. Gibson will play the role of a character named Cormac. According to reports, The Continental will explore the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins, which has become the centerpiece of the John Wick universe. The series will be told through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston, in turn charts a deadly course through New York's mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel. The studio has not yet revealed who will play Winston Scott.  

Danny DeVito Joins LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson in ‘Haunted Mansion’ 

Danny DeVito has joined LaKeith Stanfield and Owen Wilson in Disney's ghostly family film Haunted Mansion which is based on one of the company's signature theme park rides. The film also stars Tiffany Haddish and Rosario Dawson. DeVito will play a smug professor. The film is directed by Justin Simien, who is making her big studio debut with Haunted Mansion. The film began production last week in New Orleans and Atlanta.
