Jonathan Majors to join Marvel in ‘Ant-Man3’, likely to play Kang The Conqueror

Ant-Man 3 has found its villain in Jonathan Majors. The actor has been reportedly tapped by Disney-owned Marvel Studios to appear opposite Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily in the next Ant-Man film. Majors is reportedly going to play Kang the Conqueror, who is a time-travelling scholar in the comics.

While the studio has not commented on the matter, rumours are abuzz that Majors will take up the role of the super villain, having time travel through the quantum realm a big part of the Ant-Man universe. Time travel though the quantum realm was first introduced in 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp and later Avengers: Endgame. Reportedly, the third part will continue that thread in a different direction with Kang the Conqueror at the crux.

In the comics, Kang begins his journey as Nathaneil Richards in the 31st century, before travelling back to ancient Egypt, the 20th century and others. Kang does not have any special superpowers but uses his 40th-century technology thanks to his time-travelling.

Peyton Reed is set to return as director for Ant-Man 3 while Jeff Loveness is reportedly writing the script.
