Will Smith shares heartfelt reunion pictures with the cast of ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ on its 30th anniversary

Will Smith has brought some ray of sunshine into our mundane lives by sharing a few heartfelt reunion photos from the 30th anniversary of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which included original Aunt Vivian Banks played by Janet Hubert.

Smith shared some snapshots from the original set of the Banks mansion with his former co-stars Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Viv), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey), and DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz). Janet played Vivian in the sitcom’s first three seasons before being replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reid. Fans were shocked to see his private reunion with Janet after she publicly criticized him and the show for decades with claims of mistreatment during the show and after her exit.

HBO Max has commissioned a reunion to mark the 30 years of the show with an unscripted special. The special is being developed by Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith under their production company Westbrook Media, as “a funny and heartfelt night full of music, dancing, and more special surprise guests."

The special will stream on HBO Max around Thanksgiving this year. A dramatic reboot titled Bel-Air is also in the works with Morgan Cooper at the helm. The hour-long episodes will dig deeper into "Will's complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air."
