Meghan Markle is celebrating her 39th birthday today. Although she and Prince Harry are not celebrating on Instagram due to disabling their @SussexRoyal account, the Royal Family took to social media to wish the Duchess of Sussex.
Kate Middleton and Prince William started the celebrations by sending warm wishes to Meghan on her birthday. Their official account Kensington Royal posted a picture of Meghan interacting with a small girl and wrote, “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today!”
Queen Elizabeth II also wished her granddaughter-in-law through her Instagram account. The Queen's official account posted a photo of Her Majesty with Meghan at a royal engagement, along with the caption "Wishing The Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday!"
Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla also dropped birthday wishes for Meghan. Their page Clarence House shared Meghan’s picture and wrote, “Happy Birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!"
Meghan and Prince Harry have stepped down from their role of senior royals and are living now in the US with their 14-month-old son Archie. Their move left many distraught as well as anxious about the growing tension in the royal family. The birthday messages from the royal family come shortly after the publication of Finding Freedom, a new biography about Meghan’s and Harry’s relationship that reveals the circumstances of them stepping down from their royal duties. The book talks about the rift between Prince Harry and Prince William. The book is written by journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand. The couple has said that they did not provide material for the book but apparently friends of the couple did.
