I was afraid he was going to kill me: Amber Heard accuses former husband Johnny Depp in court

Hollywood actress Amber Heard, on Monday, entered the witness box to give her evidence in her former husband Johnny Depp’s libel trial against a British tabloid that accused him of assaulting her during their tumultuous relationship in the past. On the first day of her testimony, Amber reportedly denied allegations of being a heavy drug-taker, drinker as well as being controlling and abusive. It is said, in her statement to court, Amber told, “I was never violent towards him. When I felt my life was threatened, I tried to defend myself.”

Amber further went on to narrate an incident from January 2015 and claimed that Johnny began hitting her on the back of her head by kneeling on her back. “There was an argument in a hotel room in Tokyo that resulted in Johnny kneeling on my back and hitting me on the back of the head,” Amber reportedly stated. According to reports, Amber, in written testimony, mentioned that she would be worried that Johnny would kill her. She also said that she endured 'punching, slapping, kicking, head-butting and choking' in the tumultuous relationship. She added “some incidents were so severe that I was afraid he was going to kill me, either intentionally or just by losing control and going too far."

Amber, in her elaborate statement to court, mentioned that Johnny “explicitly threatened to kill me many times, especially later in our relationship”. She said he blamed his actions on 'a self-created third party' that he referred to as 'the monster'. Amber further told, Depp has 'a unique ability to use his charisma to convey a certain impression of reality' and is 'very good at manipulating people.'

Amber's testimony will last for three days and will face questioning over 14 allegations of domestic violence. Johnny has already given evidence over five days. He claimed that Amber was the aggressor during their past relationship, which he likened to 'a crime scene waiting to happen'.
