Here’s some good news for all the Harry Potter fans out there. On Thursday, Rupert Grint who played Ron Weasley on the ever so popular Harry Potter films welcomed a baby girl with girlfriend Georgia Groome. In a statement to an international portal, the actor’s representative confirmed the magical news of the little girl’s arrival.
The representative told the portal, “Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl. We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time." The news of the pregnancy and impending fatherhood broke out earlier this month when Georgia and Rupert were during an outing in London. Georgia sported a visible baby bump.
Rupert and Georgia have been romantically linked for nearly a decade and have been together since 2011. The couple has successfully kept their relationship private during their nearly ten years of being together. Georgia is also an actress and has worked in films like Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. They sparked off marriage rumours last year when Georgia was spotted wearing a gold band on her ring finger.
In a previous interview in 2018, Rupert had spoken about embracing fatherhood and starting a family soon and had said, “Turning 30 felt strange. It just doesn’t feel like I’m there yet and I don’t know what the future holds. I’m just going to go with the flow, keep playing interesting characters and see what happens. I’d like to settle down and have kids soon. If I had a son, would I call him Ron? It’s quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint’s a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with."
