Midway Trailer: Nick Jonas and Ed Skrein team up to save America in this film on World War II

"You'll remember this moment for the rest of your life." Midway is a film based on a true story and the first trailer already looks promising. Directed by Roland Emmerich, the film focuses on the legendary 1942 Battle of Midway, a historic clash between the American fleet and the Imperial Japanese Navy, which marked a significant turning point for the Americans in the Pacific during WWII.

The film also details the drama-filled six months leading up to the Battle of Midway following Japan’s infamous attack on Pearl Harbor. Woody Harrelson and Dennis Quaid play Navy admirals Chester Nimitz and William "Bull" Halsey, respectively, while actors like Ed Skrein, Luke Evans, Luke Kleintank, Darren Criss, and Nick Jonas make appearances as sailors and aviators. Seriously, can we talk about Nick's moustache?

The film also promises to be just as emotional as 2001's Pearl Harbor, as we get a glimpse of Mandy Moore playing Ed's wife, Ann Best. Watch the star-studded trailer above before the film hits theatres on November 8. Midway cost a reported $100 million, and is looking at a P&A spend upwards of $35 million. The teaser today shows off the scope of the action in the film, similar in shock-and-awe value to previous Emmerich-Mark Gordon collaborations Day After Tomorrow and 2012.

The film has been written by Wes Tooke and is being presented by Lionsgate Movies. The synopsis of Midway read, “The film, based on the real-life events of this heroic feat, tells the story of the leaders and soldiers who used their instincts, fortitude and bravery to overcome the odds.”
