The film is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang.

Aakhri Sawal, starring Sanjay Dutt, is one of the most-awaited films of the year 2026.  The film has been creating tremendous buzz since the announcement. Living up to the hype, the makers unveiled their much-awaited teaser on the occasion of Hanuman Ji Janmotsav. The glimpse offers a powerful and thought-provoking narrative, giving audiences a peek into a story rooted in real events and promises to cover some of the controversial incidents in the history of the country, including the banning of RSS and the Babri Masjid story, which is lesser known.

The film is directed by Abhijeet Mohan Warang, who made his directorial debut with the Marathi drama Picasso in 2021, earning a Special Mention at the 67th National Film Awards. Since then, he has steadily carved a niche for himself with notable contributions to both Marathi and Hindi cinema. Over the years, he has been associated with several acclaimed projects, including Deja Vu, Prem Pratha Dhumshan, Piccol, and Virtual Reality.

Produced under the banner of Nikhil Nanda Motion Pictures, which has executed multiple projects for JioHotstar and other platforms. Presented by Nikhil Nanda, the film is produced by Nikhil Nanda and Sanjay Dutt, and co-produced by Puneet Nanda, Dr. Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey, and Ujjwal Anand. The story, screenplay, and dialogues are written by Utkarsh Naithani.  The music is composed by Monty Sharma, with lyrics penned by Kumar Vishwas. Aakhri Sawal is set to release in cinemas on 8th May 2026.
