Burberry re-purposes its trench-coat workplace to produce non-surgical masks and overalls to curb PPE shortage in Britain

Burberry is known to have given us one of the most iconic pieces of clothing ever- the trench coat! Given the need of the hour, the Maison is repurposing that very trench coat's production factory to help curb PPE shortage in the wake of COVID-outbreak.

While Britain's facing a 'Herculean Challenge' to make ends meet, the authorities are calling for non-surgical masks and overalls for the armed forces, who are constantly striving to help the healthcare and essential services and Burberry has stepped in to save the day!

The luxury brand, which has suffered significant trading losses owing to lockdowns across the world, is using it's existing forces for fast-track delivery of 100,000 pieces of equipment and kits by medical professionals and essential services.

“In challenging times, we must pull together. The whole team at Burberry is very proud to be able to support those who are working tirelessly to combat Covid-19, whether by treating patients, working to find a vaccine solution or helping provide food supplies to those in need at this time. Covid-19 has fundamentally changed our everyday lives, but we hope that the support we provide will go some way towards saving more lives, bringing the virus under control and helping our world recover from this devastating pandemic. Together, we will get through this,” Marco Gobbetti, CEO, Burberry said in a press release.

Well, all for a cause!
