Finally some good news in 2020 as beauty brand Nykaa is all set to open its first offline fashion store!

After conquering the world of beauty and skincare, it seems like the e-commerce giant Nykaa is all set to venture into the world of fashion. In an interview with a leading daily, CEO Adwaita Nayar revealed the bigger plans she had in store for this growing Indian beauty brand.

In the year 2019, Adwaita along with her daughter and co-founder Falguni Nayar started the online fashion store called Nykaa fashion that had many big names under its umbrella. ‘With beauty, we reinvented the way women shopped for the category- we educate and inspire women to be excited about beauty, and in effect, have expanded the beauty market tremendously. In 2017, we started to believe we could deliver similar value to the fashion landscape and subsequently, by mid-2018, we committed ourselves wholeheartedly to building multi-brand fashion platform- nykaafashion.com’ she said.

Cut to 2020, the Nykaa Fashion CEO has bigger plans for her brand. After successfully establishing Nykaa beauty in the retail arena, Adwaita plans to do the same for her fashion brand as well. “It's the year of creating unparalleled assortment, focusing on personalized discovery for consumers (which will mainly be led by Nykaa Fashion store,” she said, revealing her offline store plans.

When asked, how is she going to thrive in the competition with the other big e-retailers like Amazon, Myntra and Flipkart; the entrepreneur replied that price is not the only motivating factor while online shopping. Elements like quality, style and varied choices also play their part. “I do believe categories like fashion and beauty are more discovery and content-led. As a vertical player, focused on just fashion, we will be able to craft the user experience precisely for this vertical. In fact, we even took the call to separate fashion from beauty and run them as separate apps and even teams, as we felt the distinct focus would be able to deliver on the customer experience more effectively,” she concluded.

Well, we can’t wait for it, can you?
