Four Baandhani-print Lehengas was what it took to make Ishaan's iconic Red Shirt in 'Dhadak'

Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor adapted the entire Rajasthani culture pretty well. The two left no stone unturned to work on their appearance and dialect for their upcoming film Dhadak which is an adaptation of Marathi blockbuster Siarat.

The duo personally picked their outfits and accessories in Rajasthan along with director, Shashank Khaitan and designer Manish Malhotra. To get the look and feel right, Ishaan also got his ears pierced to play Madhu and both the actors learned the Mewadi language. They used to converse with the locals of Udaipur to get their accent right and gain fluency.

The film has beautiful songs which do not fail to give us all a Rajasthani feel. One of the songs Pehli Baar has been making a lot of news lately but whats making even more buzz is Ishaan's iconic red baandhani shirt worn by him in the song. The actor looked exactly like a typical Rajasthani boy in that look and you won't believe what went in to create the look with a desi twist! Four red baandhani lehengas were used to make the red-shirt.

What’s also interesting to know is that four of the same shirts were made because, during the shoot, Ishaan had to jump into the pond a number of times. To ensure that there was a dry shirt ready for each shot, the makers got not one, but four of the same made.

The film, directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar is all set to release tomorrow i.e. July 20 and we cannot wait to watch the look on silver screen.
