Time Magazine Person Of the Year: The #MeToo girls - Taylor Swift, Ashley Judd, and many more

'The Silence Breakers' shattered the line of their insecurity and spoke about their sexual assault and harassment regardless of their race, income, class, occupation or any such barrier. The Time magazine honored these brave souls by naming them as its "Person of the Year".

Singer and songwriter, Taylor Swift spoke up for the first time since her trial against DJ David Mueller for groping her said, “When I testified, I had already had to watch this man’s attorney bully, badger and harass my team including my mother,” the superstar singer said. “I was angry. In that moment, I decided to forego any courtroom formalities and just answer the questions the way it happened. This man hadn’t considered any formalities when he assaulted me. Why should I be polite?”

"I think that this moment is important for awareness, for how parents are talking to their children, and how victims are processing their trauma, whether it be new or old. The brave women and men who have come forward this year have all moved the needle in terms of letting people know that this abuse of power shouldn't be tolerated," she added.

“Their collective anger has spurred immediate and shocking results. For their influence on 2017, they are TIME’s Person of the Year," reads the Time's site. The announcement was made Wednesday morning by the magazine's Editor-in-Chief Edward Felsenthal on the Today show.

'This is the fastest moving social change we've seen in decades and it began with individual acts of courage by hundreds of women - and some men too - who came forward to tell their stories of sexual harassment and assault,' Felsenthal said.

These come to light in the wake of dozens of sexual misconduct revelations about people such as film executive Harvey Weinstein, actor Kevin Spacey, comedian Louis CK, journalist Charlie Rose, TODAY anchor Matt Lauer, and many more.

People around the world addressed the never-ending issue and shared stories that gave traction to the #MeToo campaign. The hashtag fueled worldwide all over social media only proving just how endemic sexual harassment has been.

Although activist, Tarana Burke started the "Me Too" movement in 2006, it was actress Alyssa Milano tweet that made the hashtag viral.

Speaking to TODAY, Burke said, "I could never have envisioned something that would change the world. I was trying to change my community.”

Titled as the POI are Ashley Judd, Taylor Swift, Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, Tarana Burke, Selma Blair, Plaza Hotel Plaintiffs, Sara Gelser, Sandra Pezqueda, Blaise Godbe Lipman, Lindsey Reynolds, Wendy Walsh, Isabel Pascual, and many more...

These women know how to shake off the haters, it's time everyone does too...
