Pandemic or no pandemic, milestones must be celebrated. And so we are happy to note that Amy Billimoria has just completed as many as 30 years as a fashion designer.

Let’s hear it from the delightful designer: “Evolution in design has always been in circles, what goes away comes back with renewed ideation. Each decade has witnessed a remarked change in terms of surface textures, prints and silhouettes. The contemporary modern woman of today is more aware of her wants and is updated through an array of information available through various platforms to help her dress and look more confident. Customising couture was something I believed in ever since I started. Having dressed over 2,000 brides and three generations in many families, I can proudly say that my journey has been one of great satisfaction and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to dress stars from all over the world as also the girl next door.”

Over the years, she has shifted her studio in locales in Juhu. Today, she is happy at her new signature design space in Santa Cruz, next to Society Stores, opposite PH Medical Centre. The grandeur of the patio sets a distinct creative mood. This creative charm continues as you step inside the studio and feast your eyes on the niche, luxurious space delicately designed to cater to a varied clientele from film folk to those in the entertainment and corporate world.

Here, you can get a glimpse of the very latest designs, a beautiful blend of the vintage and the floral, catering to the contemporary modern woman of today. Eco-friendly fresh colour palettes sure uplift the spirits in these trying times.

Amy Billimoria’s fashion shows over the years include Earth 21 at The Club in 2011 that saw Farah Khan Ali walk the ramp, Shoaib Akhtar endorsing her chic collection at Phoenix Marketcity in 2015 and the Mercedes-Benz show last year with Ashmit Patel as showstopper.

Of course, big names apart, what Amy Billimoria really treasures is dressing up the girl next door.
