Sass, style and secrets complete the definition of Koffee With Karan. The spicy, juicy and explosive chat show, hosted by Karan Johar, is making a comeback with its seventh season tomorrow on Disney+Hotstar. Stars like Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, Samantha Ruth Prabhu with Akshay Kumar, Vijay Deverakonda & Ananya Panday, Varun Dhawan & Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor & Sara Ali Khan and many more will be seen on Koffee With Karan 7.
Ahead of Koffee With Karan 7's much-awaited premiere, PeepingMoon.com's founder Mark Manuel spoke to Karan in an exclusive interview. Straight from the sets of the show, the filmmaker opened up about the changes he has brought to the concept, whether we can expect some great revelations this season and much more. Below are the top 5 revelations made by Karan in PeepingMoon's exclusive interview.
No 'Rank In Order Of' segment henceforth
The filmmaker revealed, "There was a lot of chatter around the 'Rank In Order Of' segment in the rapid-fire round. We have dropped that this season. I felt that was creating a lot of negativity. Ranking people was not right. Perhaps that was an error made by me and I take the full onus for that. That's one factor I thought was causing rivalry and negativity. Now, I felt like focusing on making the show fun and not sensational."
No to scandals
In the interview, Karan said, "I don't want any scandals or great revelations. I don't ever ask anything that's not in the public domain. I know celebrities personally and what's happening in their lives but will never say that on camera. That's not fair to them and our friendship."
Celebrities never felt uncomfortable on Koffee With Karan couch
Karan shared, "I never ask any dark secrets or unknown facts in an offensive manner. I don't say, "Tell me the truth." If you even react in a certain way, that is the answer to it. Many a time, they all deny but I pester them and sit on their heads so that something will come out of it. I do it in fun. There has been no celebrity who felt uncomfortable sitting in front of me. The reverse has happened (laughs)."
Film sets are the biggest gossip hubs
The filmmaker also said, "I don't use all the gossips I have heard about, I use what I have read. What I know of, I don't want the world to know. Gossip is what, information about people in the industry and everyone has it. Film sets are the biggest hubs of spreading news. It is not me, I am not sitting omnipresent. I just hear but never ask anything about what I had heard in private about something that they would get thrown off by."
Takes only 24 minutes to get ready
The stylish filmmaker said, "I have timed it. I know what I am wearing and my stylist Eka Lakhani and her team are amazing, and everything is lined up for me. I take only 2 minutes to get into those clothes and 22 minutes for hair and makeup. I am ready in 24 minutes. Only when my greys are showing and they have to colour it so that I can maintain my jawani, I go up to 28 minutes. I always tell my team to call me 30 minutes before and not 2 hours prior."
