PeepingMoon Exclusive: Pradeep Sarkar puts his Aishwarya Rai Bachchan film on hold; to make a Zee5 series next!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Binodini Das biopic doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon. Peepingmoon.com has learned that filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar has put the film on hold for the time being and has instead started working on a different project. The director has apparently stockpiled the biographical drama due to script issues, as it didn’t turn out as envisioned and requires some polishing. With the Bachchan starrer back to scripting, the filmmaker has shifted his attention towards a web series he’s making for the banner Rose Audio Visuals.

Sources have informed us that Pradeep Sarkar is now making a psychological thriller series for Zee5 with Gulshan Devaiah, Amit Sadh, and Drashti Dhami playing the lead roles. Sarkar is co-directing this yet-untitled show along with Aijaz Khan, who has previously helmed the critically-acclaimed film, Hamid, and the Disney+Hotstar series, Out of Love. Although the plot and other details of the Goldie Behl production are not known yet, we heard the series has already gone on floors and is currently being filmed in Dapoli, Maharashtra.

Sarkar is also said to be working on a biopic about actress Priya Rajvansh and filmmaker Chetan Anand. While Jacqueline Fernandez is rumored to play the lead in this Deepak Mukut production, sources confirm that the film is still in its early stages and will not go into production until next year. The filmmaker is supposed to finish the final draft of the Binodini Das biopic after completing the Zee5 series. However, it’s still unclear if the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan film would be his next, or if he would begin the Priya-Chetan biopic first. On the other hand, Aishwarya has finished shooting for Mani Ratnam’s highly-anticipated two-part epic, Ponniyin Selvan, and is in talks with a top production banner for an ensemble cast, female-led thriller to be directed by a debutant.
