Irrfan passed away on April 29, 2020, leaving a deep void in the hearts of his friends, fans and family. With his passing, the dream of several filmmakers also went unrealized who could not team up with the acclaimed actor. Irrfan was slated to play the lead role in director Sai Kabir’s Divine Lovers and it was the last project that was announced with the actor in the lead.
However, now PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned that Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be stepping into the shoes of Irrfan. Kangana Ranaut, who was earlier touted to star opposite Irrfan in the film but had to let go of the project owing to date problems will be producing the film. Zarine Khan has apparently been roped in to play the female lead opposite Nawazuddin. However, an official confirmation about the film is awaited.
Talking about Zarine, Kabir had earlier said, “Zarine fits the bill perfectly as we wanted a girl with Pathani looks. The film is an adventure comedy.”However, the film was put on the backburner but looks like Kangana and Kabir have revived the film. Divine Lovers revolves round the lower middle-class section of society and is set in the heartland of India.
Kabir and Kangana have previously worked together in Revolver Rani.
