Shooting for R. Balki’s space adventure Mission Mangal starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menen and Sharman Joshi is slated to begin tomorrow at a undisclosed location in Chembur. PeepingMoon.com sources reveal that it will be a home scene but Akshay will not be part of the first day’s shoot.
The actor, who has Shankar’s 2.0 co-starring Rajnikanth coming up at the end of the month, is busy at the moment winding up Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 4. He will begin work on Mission Mangal only on November 21. And Akshay will report to Balki’s set that has been erected at Film City. It is expected that he will finish this film by January end and then return to shoot a song for Housefull 4.
Mission Mangal, a collaboration between Akshay, Balki and Fox Star Studios, is going to be directed by Jagan Shakti. Of his co-stars, Akshay has acted with Sonakshi in Rowdy Rathore, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara and Joker; with Vidya in Hey Babyy and Bhool Bhulaiyaa; and Taapsee in Naam Shabana. When revealing the cast in a photograph on social media, Akshay wrote: “Proud and excited to bring the story of India’s Mars mission, Mission Mangal, to you. Meet the team and do share your best wishes for our shubh mangal journey. Shoot begins soon.”

The actresses are reportedly playing scientists in Mission Mangal. It is believed another actress, Kashmira Pardeshi from Tollywood, will be making her Bollywood debut with this film. She, too, is believed to be playing a pivotal role.
