Akshay Kumar, who is making films at a dizzying speed – Covid and lockdown notwithstanding, has reportedly got a heroine for his forthcoming film Ram Setu. Peeping Moon has exclusively learned that she is none other than the Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez who is shooting with Akshay currently in Jaisalmer for Sajid Nadiadwala’s actioner Bachchan Pandey.
The two have featured in quite a few films together including the Housefull franchise and Brothers. Now, in quick succession, Jackie will be seen with Akki in two films. She has always maintained that working with Akshay “is a crazy ride” and that she looked forward to having a blast with him again.
Not much is known about Ram Setu. Akshay announced the film last Diwali by releasing a poster in which he urged cinegoers “to endeavor to keep alive the ideals of Ram in the consciousness of all Bharatiyas by building a bridge (setu) that will connect generations to come”.
The poster showed Akshay in a disheveled look with a saffron scarf around his neck. The background has Lord Ram with a bow and arrow. It also asks, “Myth or Reality?” Ram Setu will be directed by Abhishek Sharma who helmed films like The Zoya Factor, Parmanu, Tere Bin Laden among others. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who is directing Akshay’s Prithviraj, is the creative producer.
